More than a mountain inn – a summit feeling
Since winter 2015, Sebastian Kern has been the host at Berghaus Foppa, shaping its development with great dedication and passion. Thanks to his training in tourism and his many years of experience in the hospitality industry, he combines a commitment to quality with warm hospitality and a keen sense for his guests’ needs.
Together with his long-standing and well-coordinated team, Sebastian Kern ensures that locals, hikers, winter sports enthusiasts, and vacationers alike feel welcome. Whether in the kitchen or in the dining room, warmth, reliability, and a high standard of quality characterize daily life at Berghaus Foppa. With great passion and experience, the team dedicates itself every day to preserving the house’s traditions while simultaneously developing them with fresh ideas.
A place with a past. And a future.
Since 1961, Berghaus Foppa has been an integral part of the Flims mountain landscape. Built by the Berghaus Foppa cooperative as a meeting place for the Flims Ski Club, it quickly became a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts, hikers, families, and those who appreciate the finer things. The unique location above Flims, the warm hospitality, and the excellent cuisine made the mountain inn a place of gathering for decades.
In 1993, the cooperative was converted into a corporation. In the following years, the mountain inn was continuously modernized and expanded—always with the goal of preserving its original charm and special atmosphere. In 2023, the municipality of Flims acquired the property, securing the long-term future of this traditional establishment.
A pivotal moment followed in autumn 2024, when a fire completely destroyed the mountain inn. What initially seemed like the end of a long story became the beginning of a new chapter. With great respect for the past, Berghaus Foppa was rebuilt as a modern structure—with contemporary infrastructure, without losing its original character.
Since July 2026, we have been welcoming our guests once again to the new Berghaus Foppa. Today, we combine living tradition with fresh hospitality, creating a place where locals, vacationers, and mountain lovers can experience unforgettable moments amidst the impressive mountain landscape of Flims.
